your input, please?

Why do I want to study law?

Of all the questions to get stuck on in my application, this has to be the one.

Do you think the admissions people would sympathesize if I say I just need to get out of my house? Out of the city? Maybe the province? Should I say that I have no idea, except that I know just don't want to work yet? Should I talk about reading John Grisham in high school? Oh man, I'm such an unfocused and delusional applicant. Please help?

None of those seems to be a good answer.

How about I want to add a few letters to my name? ;)

Hey Michelle!

I just caught up on all your blogs and they just made me smile. You make me laugh. And you totally have my tv schedule laid out except that I would replace TTW with Alias. Gawd, I love Alias. It's too bad that I don't have time to watch tv anymore. Today is the first time in a long while that I will be able to sit down for some good dose of it.
Congrats on the good LSAT news. Just tell them that you have this friend who wants to call you her lawyer friend and that's why they should accept you. I'll even be your reference, then they'll have no reason not to accept you.
So I see you're still procrastinating on that thesis thing. I think next to me, you're the worst procrastinator I know and that's saying a lot. Get cracking missy!

first of all, congrats on your LSAT scores! way to go...

i like your answers but perhaps saying something along the lines of "i heard that lawyers have no morals... so i thought i'd fit right in seeing as though i have about as many scruples as a gnat... (it's always good to back up your statements with examples so how bout saying, 'for example, there were those 3 years i spent selling organs on the black market')"...

or perhaps something more cheesy along the lines of how u feel that u've always liked the idea of justice and that serving it seems like it would be very fulfilling and rewarding... and that it could serve as a means by which u could give back to the community...

ah, i don't know... sorry, i'm not much help...

No creative ideas on why you want to study law, except maybe it's more exciting that studying medicine?
